The ancient forests of the world are disappearing at an alarming rate and once they are gone they can’t be replaced. Old-growth forests provide unique habitats for both plants and animals that can not be replicated. In British Columbia the fight to protect the few remaining stands of old growth forests has been raging for decades.

Ancient forests are culturally significant to the First Nations people that originally inhabited this land for time immemorial. They coexisted with the landscape in a respectful way, always ensuring that their actions didn’t unbalance the fragile ecosystem on which they relied. Since the colonization of Canada those forests have vanished as a result of industrial logging that neither respects the land nor the inhabitants within it. We have the ability to protect those few remaining stands though, ensuring that they are not lost forever.
